Welcome to my vision for learning
A vision for learning is my capstone project for the University of British Columbia's Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree. It is a collection of and reflection about writings and other artifacts that I have created throughout the program.
I am constantly on the watch for ways to better help my students understand the concepts that I teach. I love the moment when I see the light dawn in their eyes or the lightbulb suddenly switch on, especially if it has been a difficult idea for them to grasp. The moments that I have especially enjoyed in the MET program, and the ones that I want to highlight in this ePortfolio, are the ones that have caused the light to dawn in my eyes: the ones where I have realized that I have found another practical tool to use to help me understand the students better, or to help the students learn and understand better.
My vision for learning has both broadened and deepened since beginning the MET program. Three key areas stand out for me: learning theories; constructivism; and technology in the math class.
