Tour Guide
Welcome to my vision for learning. My ePortfolio reflects the notion that I am a very visual and text-based learner, and it documents my efforts over the duration of the MET program to expand my vision to include teaching strategies for other types of learning. Learning theories and constructivism in particular have played a large role in expanding my vision.
Overview of site navigation:
- The site is built around a hub which is the "main" page
- Browse the site in any order you like
- Artifacts and external links will open in a new tab or window
- If you get lost, click the back button or the link at the top right to the main page
- To see a clickable map of the site, click on the link to "site map" from most pages
My ePortfolio is based on a modified hub model, with the "main" page at the centre of the hub. Most pages are linked back to the main page; however, my original artifacts and any links from the resources page will open in a new tab or window.
Feel free to browse this site in any order you choose. It was not created nor meant to be browsed in a chronological manner, but rather it is organized into the three themes of learning theories, technology in math, and constructivism. If you get lost at any point, use your back button or click on the link to the site map at the top right of most pages.
One of my goals in the MET program was to increase my technical skills, and I accomplished this through the choice of projects in which I engaged. I had fun creating this ePortfolio starting with the page called Pogo, which is available at Open Source Web Design. I used my previous experience with html and newly discovered interest in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to change the page and add in some additional formatting that I needed (for example, I learned how to format references on a web page). Much of the work was done in an open source web authoring program called Nvu.
